HOPTIMIST BABY BIMBLE, SMALL, GIRL WITH SMILING EYES

It was the Danish furniture maker, Hans Gustav Ehrenreich (1917-1984), who in 1968 created the cheerful and cute Hoptimists. The characteristic, powerful colours and round shapes were a trend during that time period. Ehrenreich took part in many international expositions and received many awards, both in his home country and abroad, for his craftwork.

Hoptimists will make a difference! They will create a smile on your face and give you the energy to do something.
A smile usually creates another smile. The Hoptimists will smile at you and wait for your reaction. Maybe they receive a smile back or a small pat which will put them in motion. They thank you for the attention you gave them and on their place they bounce around with a surplus of energy. Every time completely predictable!.

Children know that intuitively. The immediately see what the Hoptimists gives in return when they touch it. The same childlike expectation makes adults raise their hand to press the Hoptimist gently and, the rest will go automatically. When the energy of the hand compresses the spring it will awaken a character to life. Not much, not for long, but just as we have expected.
